The white-bellied drongo (Dicrurus caerulescens) is a species of drongo found across the Indian Subcontinent. The white-bellied drongo is a resident breeder in India and Sri Lanka. This species is usually found in dry scrub or open forests. It is easily distinguished from its all-black relatives by its charcoal-grey upperparts and a strikingly white belly and vent, which contrast sharply with its deeply forked tail. This bird expertly imitates the calls of larger raptors to scare other birds away from food sources. Often seen perched on high, exposed branches, it performs acrobatic aerial maneuvers to snatch insects mid-air.
