The Jungle Babbler (Argya striata) is a medium-sized bird endemic to the Indian Subcontinent. They are characterized by their earthy-brown plumage, a creamy-yellow bill, and pale eyes. Jungle babblers are gregarious birds that forage in small groups of six to ten birds, a habit that has given them the name of "Seven Sisters" in urban Northern India. Inhabiting dry scrub and gardens, they are famous for their communal behavior, often foraging on the ground for insects and nectar while maintaining a constant chatter of squeaks and chatters. They are brave and cooperative, frequently joining forces to mob predators like snakes or owls.
