The brahminy starling (Sturnia pagodarum), also known as brahminy myna, is a distinctively colored member of the starling family of birds, native to the plains of the Indian subcontinent. It is easily recognized by its pale, creamy-buff plumage and a striking black crest that lies flat against its head but can be raised when the bird is excited. Its bill is yellow with a bluish base, matching its pale yellow legs. Typically found in open habitats, dry forests, and near human settlements, these starlings are omnivorous, feeding on fruits and insects.
