Royal Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), Ranthambore National Park

The park is currently home to approximately 75 to 80 tigers (including adults and cubs). While this is a triumph for conservation, it has pushed the park to its carrying capacity - estimated at around 40-50 individuals. Many young tigers are now dispersing into the larger Ranthambore Tiger Reserve buffer areas (Zones 6-10) and neighboring sanctuaries like Kailadevi and the newly formed Dholpur-Karauli Tiger Reserve.
