Eurasian Collared Dove (Streptopelia Decaocto)

The Eurasian collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto) is a medium-sized dove native to Europe, Asia, and northern Africa. It has also been introduced to Japan, North and Central America, and the islands in the Caribbean. It is easily identified by its pale, sandy-grey plumage and the distinctive black half-collar on the back of its neck. It has an average length of 32 cm from tip of beak to tip of tail, with a wingspan of 47-55 cm, and a weight of 125-240 g. As granivores, they primarily feed on seeds and grains.
