Indian Eagle-Owl

Characterized by striking orange-yellow eyes and prominent ear tufts, they possess mottled brown plumage that provides perfect camouflage against craggy terrain. Unlike many owls, they often nest on rocky cliffs or ground scrapes rather than trees. Their deep, resonant double hoot is a signature sound of the Indian wilderness at dusk.
