Jawai Bandh Leopard Conservation Reserve, Rajasthan, India
The impact was felt across three main areas: the leopard habitat, the local villages, and the regional infrastructure. The flood caused the lower grasslands and the banks of the Jawai River to submerge. This temporarily displaced the leopard's prey base (like peacocks and smaller mammals) to higher ground. The rocky trails became slippery and mud-clogged, making the standard 4x4 Gypsy routes dangerous or impassable. By late October 2025, as the monsoon receded, the region began to recover.
