Cape Fur Seals, Duiker Island
The Cape Fur Seal is also known as Brown Fur Seal (Arctocephalus pusillus). It is the largest and most robust fur seal. Males of the South African subspecies are 2.3 m (7.5 ft) in length on average and weigh from 200-300 kg (440-660 lb). Females are smaller, averaging 1.8 m (5.9 ft) in length and weighing an average of 120 kg (260 lb).
