Three-Eyed Lizard, Berenty Spiny Forest, Madagascar
Three-eyed Lizard (Chalarodon madagascariensis) also known as the three-eyed iguana, is a species of Malagasy terrestrial iguanian lizard native to western, southern, and south eastern Madagascar. The species inhabits mainly coastal, semi-arid to arid regions and almost entirely open, or very sparsely vegetated habitats with sandy soil. Its total length is usually about 200mm. It has a dark spot on the top of its head which actually contains photoreceptors.
