Tagelöhnerhaus, Black Forest Open Air Museum, Gutach im Schwarzwald, Germany
Tagelöhnerhaus - a day laborer's cottage, was built in 1819 in Oberprechtal. Its inhabitants would have earned their living as weavers, foresters and day-laborers. The cottage conveys a powerful sense of the restricted and basic living conditions of poor country folk. The contents of the cottage, from the furniture to the dishes and the linen, all came complete with the cottage and were kept on by the museum. Thus, visitors can witness the cottage exactly as its last owner left it in 1993.
