On the right wall of the sanctuary, the Seven Hathors can be seen nursing children. They protected children and announced the fate of a child at his birth. On the same wall, they can also be seen holding tambourines, joyously celebrating the birth of the child. The Birth House was dedicated to the son of Horus and his wife Hathor. This was Har-Sema-Tawy "Horus the Uniter of the Two Lands". The unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under the rule of a single king was the ideological foundation of ancient Egyptian kingship.
