The Church of St. Johann (San Giovanni) in Ranui, Santa Maddalena, South Tyrol, Italy
The church was built in 1744 and dedicated to St. Johannes Nepomuk. The altarpiece depicting Our Lady on her throne and Johannes showing her his un-decomposed tongue as a sign that he had not divulged confessional secrets, was painted by Franz Sebald Unterberger. The life of the saint is portrayed in a series of nine paintings.
